Then shall they break forth into joy—Sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem; for the Father hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.
As a little girl living in the woods of Connecticut, the sound of the crickets in the stone walls of our property lulled me to sleep each night. When I think of a joyful noise, I think of those tiny creatures filling the air with their music in the twilight. Also, my sisters and I would capture spiders, dig for earthworms, and count the spots on lady bugs’ backs. We watched the classic cartoon ‘The Grasshopper and the Ant’, giving us even more curiosity about the insects.
